Winter Wonderland
Upgrades to an existing ski chalet provided a new roof, new entry deck, upgraded exterior finishes, and the additional of 2,400 ft2 of amenity space.

Larch Hills Nordic Society is located just outside Salmon Arm, BC and offers some of the finest cross-country ski trails in the province. Our design team assisted the Society with their vision of a larger ski chalet that included the addition of a second storey as well as a new entry deck. Total building area was increased from 1,200 ft2 to 3,600 ft2. A new roof and upgraded exterior finishes provide the final touches.

Prior to the expansion initiative, the Society had already completed considerable infrastructure improvements including interior upgrades to the existing chalet and construction of new washrooms and caretakers facilities. The addition was thoughtfully designed to blend seamlessly with the existing log building. The addition of expansive windows and a dormer bring in the natural light and gives the chalet an airy, open atmosphere on even the gloomiest of winter days while the timber walls and ceilings create a warm and inviting retreat from the snowy ski trails.
