The Merrit Railyard mall is a prominent commercial centre for Merrit.  It has a distinctive design theme, reflecting the rich rail history of the region and catered to an infill government service building in the integrated design.

The three infill projects completed on this site expanded on this theme, through massing and materials to evoke the buildings of a railyard.  One building reflects the coal storage building, another the rail passenger station.  The use of brick and corrugated metal further enhance the effect
