Located northeast of downtown Vernon, BC, the Area Structure Plan covers 260 ha / 650 ac of mountainous terrain. The plan includes 1750 residential units, including single family, cluster housing and low density multiple family housing, 10000m2 regional commercial space, parks, and protected environmentally significant areas. The plan addresses urban growth, infrastructure servicing, recreational facility planning, the local transportation network and environmental sustainability.
Design features includes sustainably hillside development employing “Healthy Housing”, along with a new village center. The initial phase of East Bella Vista is now underway as the Turtle Mountain neighbourhood.
