Richard Bugera

Senior Technologist

Richard joined New Town in 2004 and brings with him 14 years experience in the design and drafting field. After training in project management in the North West Territories, Richard re-located to the Okanagan.   Knowledgeable in areas of commercial, industrial and residential design, Richard is also skilled in land use planning and design.

Wayne J. Zylla, AT

Senior Technologist

Wayne joined New Town in 2003. With a keen eye for detail and over 22 years experience in drafting technology, Wayne has developed a crucial understanding of the process of putting together complete working drawing and construction packages.

Tricia Martens, B. Arch

Design Manager, I.A. AIBC

Tricia is a graduate of the University of Oregon and joined New Town in 2006. Her studies focused on larger scale educational and art facilities, including post secondary schools and museums.  Along with her Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Tricia holds a Minor in Interior Architecture which enhances her creativity and design ability.

Paul Schuster, BEDes (Architecture)

Project Manager

A member of  New Town since 2004, Paul leads the design team in the production and assembly of construction drawings and specifications. He is in the process of completing his professional development exams in preparation for licensure and registration with the Architect Institute of British Columbia (AIBC). Paul strives to push the envelope regarding environment sustainanbility and construciton detailing for all his projects and prides himself on the great wroking realationships that he holds with clients and contractors.

Jana Folk

Administrative  Assistant

Assistant to both Architecture and Planning, Jana plays a very diverse role and contributes significantly to internal and external communications. Skilled in the everyday pressures of running an office, Jana is the ‘go-to’ person for New Town and is known for her proactive thinking and positive attitude.

Lisa Fraser

Business Manager, Planning Assistant

Lisa Fraser has been with New Town since its inception and plays a key role in coordinating the corporate structure and implementing business policies and procedures. With over seventeen years business and accounting experience and ten years experience in land use planning, Lisa has become a vital team member within the firm.

Malindi Elmore, BA, MEDes

Planner

Malindi joined New Town Services in 2009 and has a Bachelor of International Relations from Stanford University and a Masters in Environmental Design (Planning)  from the University of Calgary.  As an Olympic athlete, Malindi combined her athletic and academic interests into a study of the urban regeneration and impacts of Olympic Villages and Mega-events.

Prior to New Town Services, Malindi worked for Stantec in Calgary.

Jeanette Elmore, BA, MEDes

Planner

A graduate of the University of Calgary, Jeanette returned to her hometown of Kelowna and joined New Town in 2008. With a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from McGill University and a Master of Environmental Design (Planning) from the University of Calgary, Jeanette has a special focus in Smart Growth, sustainable communities and alternative transportation.

Keith Funk, PIBC, MCIP

Keith Funk is a partner in New Town Architectural Services and the Principal of New Town Planning Services. Keith has over twenty five years experience in the architecture, planning, and architectural research and development field. Keith spent four years as a field researcher with Heritage Canada photographing and recording the architectural features of Canada’s first structures. Since that time he has advised on a number of restoration projects and developed Heritage Area Guidelines to manage the redevelopment of buildings of heritage note within Kelowna, BC.

Patrick McCusker, MAIBC, AAA, RAIC

As the founder of New Town Architecture Inc., Patrick has over 24 years experience as a senior designer and project architect specializing in commercial, mixed-use residential and institutional developments. Pat has managed design teams, negotiated with jurisdictional authorities and undertaken and coordinated all aspects of building development from schematic design through construction administration.
